The home page may or may not be preceded by a splash page.
In some respects, the home page is the most important page of a Web site. Visitors
who arrive at a slow-loading or poorly-designed home page may not view
the rest of the site. Worse yet, they might decide to avoid the site
in the future. Generally, home pages should be fast-loading and intuitive, although
that is often easier said than done.
The term home page is also used as a shortened expression
for personal home page, although personal page is a better designation for this concept.
