FaceBook & Thoughts Become ThingsMike Peters, 10-31-2007 |
I'm a big believer in Thoughts Become Things.
Ever since I can remember, my parents always taught me that if you have burning desire and belief so strong that you can taste it, everything is possible.
Well before "The Secret" movement, I've seen these principles hold very true in my life and the lives of my friends and colleagues.
I recently joined FaceBook and it got me thinking about this concept again.
FaceBook has an addictive feature where your friends can set their "status", indicating what they are up to or what's on their mind. When you login to FaceBook, you see a list of notifications, showing all your friends and what their current status is.
Now, I have some very successful friends on FaceBook. Folks like Jeremy Palmer from QuitYourDayJob, Vinny Lingham from ClicksToCustomers, Joel Comm, Shawn Collins from AffiliateSummit and many more.
I also have some friends who are not doing so well for themselves. They are stuck in dead end jobs and always seem to be going through tough times.
Can you spot whose who?

Naturally I hid the names of my friends who are not so successful, to protect their privacy.
But the point I am trying to make here is -
Notice how Jeremy Palmer, for example, is always positive - always looking forward to a productive week and as exhausted as he is with his new PPCClassroom product, Jeremy maintains an upbeat positive attitude.
Another friend of mine, who seems to believe he has no luck in life, starts his week setting his status to negative statements such as "getting an ulcer" and just wanting the week to be over with.
Next time you set your FaceBook status, or make any other statement about your present situation, please understand you are projecting your thoughts into your immediate future.
As much as all of this may sound like a stupid cliche to you, I've seen these principles hold true, time and time again.
