Take Control of Social Media with a Single ExtensionTyler Banfield, 09-13-2007 |
Until today, I had never heard of the 97th Floor. However, they have a hot new Firefox extension that is flying through the internet marketing community.
The extension that has pushed them into the eyes of the internet marketing community is called Social Media for Firefox.
So what's the purpose of this extension? In a nutshell, if you are looking to build strong social media profiles, this is the way to do it. Because you can see how many Diggs, Reddit, Stumbles and Deli.cio.us bookmarks any page has, you can find a story that is popular on one site (for example Reddit) and submit it to another site that hasn't received the story (for example, Digg).
When you are browsing the internet, it displays in the Firefox Status Bar area. The creators recommend setting it to manual, which means that all you have to do is click a single button when you want to get the stats for that page.
However, the really cool part about the extension is that when you are browsing one of the social sites, you can instantly see stats for each of the headlines on that page (as shown in the screen shot below).

So, if you're ready to create a social media profile that you can eventually leverage for your own benefits, it's time to install Social Media for Firefox
